26 years on, and still running this website.
In the course of my career, which we could argue about exactly when it began (it is difficult to say), I have dealt with plenty of change. This time it is a PHP vulnerability. A long standing bug, unproven, was made transparent through the help of the latest frontier AI models. The result? The IT world freaks out, everyone patches everything, and we all manage to keep the internet working another day.
For me, this is yet another cycle. Another refresh. Another new install. My first iteration was all hand written HTML. I’ve tried various systems from custom-coded to various forms of supported. At this stage I am looking for the easiest possible path. Just stand up the site. Let me get a post up no one will read, and MOVE ON!
